Procurement
- Colorado Revised Statue 24-103-207.5 requires that all State of Colorado invitations for bids for products shall include language that describes the availability of the purchasing preference for environmental products and requires the Governor’s Energy Office (GEO) to maintain a list of certification entities. The State Purchasing Office maintains the Environmentally Preferable Purchasing Policy.
Operations and Maintenance
- In April 2007, the Greening of State Government Executive Orders D011-07 and D012-07 were signed; these orders direct state government to reduce energy use by 20% in addition to other environmental benchmarks.
End of Life Management
- The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment maintains a Web page on electronics recycling which information about electronic recycling events, a list of electronic recyclers, and a map to locate recycling options.
- State employees can recycle their personal computers for free during annual electronic recycling events held by the Governor’s Energy Office and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
