In 2011, the SEC recognized a record twelve Partners for their outstanding work in electronics stewardship by completing SEC program requirements. Four Partners achieved Gold level status for successful implementation of all three lifecycle program requirements. Three additional Partners were recognized with Silver level awards, and four Partners for Bronze level awards for their accomplishments.
This year, Partners were required to meet additional requirements. To receive recognition for Operations & Maintenance, Partners had to meet new duplexing requirement for printers and copiers, in addition to power management requirements. For End-of-Life Management, Partners were required to send equipment to recyclers certified to one of 3 programs: R2, R2/Rios, or e-Stewards.
After 4 years, it is still evident that Partners most frequently meet the requirements for Procurement and End-of-Life Management, while Operations & Maintenance with its power management requirements remains the most difficult of all SEC program requirements.
Congratulations to the following award winners!

The environmental results of all SEC Partner activity in calendar 2011 resulted in significant environmental benefits, including avoided greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to removing almost 8,000 cars from our roads and saved enough energy to power close to 7,000 homes.
